Major Minor Actors
There are actors and actresses who manage to get guest staring roles on TV in many of our favorite shows. Be it one episode or one season, they work steadily. They may not be famous, but chances are you’d recognize them if you saw their face.
Perhaps the most recognizable on my list is Terry O’Qinn. He has been on TV for 30 years. You would know him best as John Locke on Lost. But before Lost made him a star, he had roles on Remington Steele, Moonlighting, Star Trek The Next Generation, The X-Files, Millennium, Alias, The West Wing, and Law and Order. After Lost, he appeared in 666 Park Avenue, Gangland, Hawaii 5-o , Falling Skies and Full Circle. He also did the voice for a character in Phineaus and Ferb.
CHH Pounder is about the same age as Terry O’Quinn, but her resume isn’t quite as long. She too appeared on The X-File, Millennium and The West Wing. In addition to that she has been on Quantum Leap and ER. She best known for her roles on The Shield and Warehouse 13. Since the end of Warehouse 13, she has gone on to be a part of Sons of Anarchy and guest star in the movie The Mortal Instruments.
Saul Rubinek is around the same age. He is best known for his role as Artie on Warehouse 13, but his resume goes back a ways. Rubinek was on Star Trek the Next Generation in the early 90s. Most recently he has shown up on Lost and Person of Interest. He has a very distinct look and is very talented.
Olivia d’Abo is best known for her role as Kevin’s older sister Karen on The Wonder Years. She also had a role on Growing Pains, Star Trek the Next Generation and Party of Five. More recently you might have seen her in Alias or Elementary.
Laura Innes made the rounds in the early 90s with appearances on Party of Five and My So-Called Life. You probably remember her most as Carrie Weaver on ER. She is still working. You might have noticed her guest spot on Warehouse 13.
Jessica Tuck has been in a ton of things throughout the past 20 years. Don’t blink or you might have missed her in an episode of Home Improvement. She didn’t make it into the X-Files, but she did land a spot on Millennium with Terry O’Quinn and CCH Pounder! She has also been on ER, CSI, Grey’s Anatomy, Saving Grace, Flashforward, Judging Amy, Bones, Castle and Grimm. She is probably most recognized as Nan in True Blood though.
Lisa Waltz made an impression on me for her role in My So-Called Life. But then I realized I’d seen her before in The X-Files, Quantum Leap and Mad About You. Most recently she has appeared on Lie To Me, Bones, CSI, Castle and Private Practice.
Tracy Middendorf is another familiar face with roles on Beverly Hills 90201, Millennium, The X-Files, Ally McBeal, Angel, The Practice, 24, Alias, House, Lost, Bones, The Mentalist, NCIS and Body of Proof.
Heroes made Jack Coleman and Adrian Pasdar stars. Since then they’ve appeared on other shows I watch. Coleman has been on The Mentalist, House, Castle, CSI and The Vampire Diaries. Man, the Man in the Glasses gets around! Pasdar was on Judging Amy for a couple of seasons before becoming a Hero. Afterward, he made appearances on Castle and Forever.
Allison Scagiloti who was Claudia on Warehouse 13 was in Grounded for Life before her big break, as well as Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh. Since the end of Warehouse 13 she has had roles on CSI, Bones and Person of Interest!
Tania Raymonde is best known for playing Alex on Lost. Before she was Rousseau’s daughter, she was the friend of Malcolm in Malcolm in the Middle. Since her breakthrough role, she has been in Bones, CSI and Hawaii 5-0.
